My parents computer got infected, it started off with the fake antivirus alerts. Then I wasn't able to open web browsers, access the task manager, control panel, etc. I ran MalwareByte's, Microsoft Security Essentials, Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D, Kaspersky TDSSkiller, SuperAntiSpyware, CCleaner, Registry Repair. The computer is definitely running much quicker, I'm also able to access things that I couldn't before.
But now I can't connect to the internet, either wired or wireless, even though it says I'm connected. The files for Windows Security center were missing or corrupt, so I downloaded those, but I can't turn on the firewall or the automatic updates. I get messages saying it can't activate IIS. And when I go to 'add windows components', ISS is the only checkbox I can't click on. System restore won't work either. Any ideas?
