Laptop w/waterspill

Been drying for days. Water spilled onto the keyboard of my Acer Aspire 3000 and wondering where I might start looking for the problem. Hitting the power button results in nothing. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks for any suggestions (please spare me the replace the motherboard comments). More interested in learning how to repair the boards without obtaining a degree in microelectronics.

If it was on when you spilt the water, you're buggered, it'll be fried.

If it was off, you're probably still buggered.
