I bought and currently have installed the following OS:

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders - OEM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6832116488

I just bought:

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - OEM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6832116754

I want to do a clean install? (I only have one HDD).

Will this new OS CD do a format of the hard drive for me before it installs the OS?
If not how do I format the HDD?

I did the following in preparation for the clean install:

Took out one of my two vedio cards.
Check that booting from CD was first in boot order.

Backed up all below to a 32gig thumb drive:
Backed up iTunes libray tunes and apps
Backed up Outlook .PST
Backed up IE Faverates.
Backed up my documents

Updated BIOS to Windows 7.

Once new OS is installed I will install the following:
All software.
Video drivers.
Intel chip set drivers

Once again my question is:
Will this new OS CD do a format of the hard drive for me before it installs the OS?
If not how do I format the HDD?

thanks

Mark

Windows 7 will give you the option of formatting the HD during the install just like Vista did when you installed it. That happens at the time it asks you which HD you want to install it on.
