Memory: Will 2700 SoDIMM work in 2100 spec'd laptop (HP)

In most cases it will, but that is no guarantee. For the most part it is a
maximum speed rating, and is backwards compatible. I have seen instances
where higher rated memory would not work at some lower speeds for whatever
reasons though.
