hi, i have a Dell Dimension 8400... - -! i want to upgrade a graphic card 4 my pc. i have a PCI-E slot on my motherboard. currently running ATI Radeon x300 series. I want to buy a graphic card that can handle some good games, like a minimum requirement for CRYSIS or around in a 1024*768 resolution. i had a friend recommended me to get a 9500GT, and some recommend me to get HD4670. but i don't know if i have enough power to run them, i have a 350W PSU.

A 4670 is better than a 9500GT and should be ok with that PSU. Dont expect much from Crysis though with a Pentium 4 and 512mb of RAM.

Honestly, I wouldn't bother upgrading the GPU. The rest of the system is too much of a bottleneck. Your money is better spent on a new machine.

Eh, even with 2GB of RAM, a P4 is pretty slow. You'd see a mild improvement in older games with a new card, but you probably won't see much of anything new out of Crysis.

i have so many old computers in my house...if i build a new one will probably wait for few years...

Barely meet the minimum.... will not cut it for Crysis. It will be unplayable.

My suggestion is the HD 5750 which is on par with the HD 4850 and uses a little less than the HD 4670.

Dont be silly now.. A p4 will give a major bottleneck to that gpu.

Get either a 4670 or a 9600gso (keep in mind only the gddr3). Imo go for the
4670, since i fancy that card.

I reckon this card will still b bottlenecked by the p4, but it should give a nice fps boost in some games.

Power won't be an issue, 336W / 12V = how many Amps? A P4 will hold things back. If your looking to play new(er) games the higher cards suggested will help. Crysis might be out of reach, but there are other games that will show a big boost over the slow x300.

As has been said, the CPU is really the limiting factor here, look for the HD4670 or 9600GT but in both cases, make sure they have GDDR3 not GDDR2 memory.
Another option is to get the HD5750 and roll it into the next build, but it will be heavily held back by the Dell CPU.
