I am looking to purchase this PC over the next couple of months. My budget is 1200-1500. It will be used for gaming, home usage surfing the web, watching movies.

I dont need a monitor got a really good one right now.

I would like to use the i5 core with an ASUS mobo. Just not sure what mobo. New egg and tiger direct are just fine with me.

As far as overclocking maybe.

This is my first build so I am a little bit nervous about taking this on. But look forward to the challange.

Any help well be greatly appreciated.

I am looking to purchase all parts in the next 2 months. My budget is between 1200-1500 after rebates.

It will be used for gaming, web surfing, home use, and watching movies.

I already have a monitor

I prefer to use newegg and tiger direct

I would like to use intel i5 core with an ASUS mobo and a full case

I plan on overclocking and maybe sli or crossfire

This will be my first build.

If I had that money I would go with this setup:

GPU: (It's not available at this moments but as you said "I am looking to purchase all parts in the next 2 months" so probably it will be available at that time)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102856
Heatsink+CPU (At that price range I would go with an Intel core I7 not I5)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.235105
Memory+Motherboard:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.277522
PSU+Case:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.266006
HD:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136319
DVD Burner:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151187
Thermal Compound:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007

(Just saying I never built a computer before, but that's what I would go for, I would post it here to be sure it's a good project, but I think I would go with it)

That PSU will give you enough power to do crossfire on the 5870 in the future.

Well...here the parts you can get
CPU: Intel Core i5
Power Supply: Corsair 650TX
Storage Device: (Chances are, there will most likley be plenty leftover money so you might consider an SSD as a nice treat, if you decide you want one just say but for now i'll give you a link to a hard drive)
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive
RAM: Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 4GB 2x2GB DDR3 1600 w/ 7-7-7-20 Timings (CL)

You still haven't told me which resolution your monitor has so can't really recommend a GPU and about the case, just get a good brand and size that is of your preference. Thermal compound & heatsink look okay :)
