Wireless router

Is the dish already connected by wire to your router? I’m just wondering what you expect to get out of having it connected to the network. On the face of it’s not obvious since the dish doesn’t require a network connection. IOW, assuming you are able to network the dish, would it matter? Are there additional services you’re expecting to access by having it networked?

It would help as well to have the dish make/model to determine if it can even be networked (again, assuming it’s not already connected by wire). It must at least have an Ethernet (RJ45) port or perhaps accept a USB wireless adapter.
