Have you tried getting each one started one at a time without screwing them down?

Yup, and i cant, are the springs supposed to retract or something, because thats not whats happening, if i screw one in the other side of the thing that holds it in goes up and its impossible to screw it in. Is there something i have to remove before or something, im so frustraited

100% sure its the 1366 mount, the package doesent include 1156 mount

If your wondering, its Thermalright True Black REV.C

Did you read the instructions about mounting the bracket to the motherboard before the heatsink?

Yes i did, its step 5 that i cant get.

Have you tried flipping the springs around 180 degrees on the screws to see if that helps any?

In reviewing the instructions, it seems pretty easy to install so I understand your frustraition

I've tried a couple of things, but each time i try to screw it in, the metal thing that holds it in bends too far, yet not far enough to even screw the second one in.

Have you tried screwing both in at the same time to get started? Since it is outside the case, you could use one hand on each screw and try it that way. Also, have you verified you have the mounting plate the right side up?

Yes i've got the mounting plate correct, the distance from the plate to the screw holes seems too far

Reply to computernewbie

How far?

Can you bend the mounting brackets in just a little to line you the holed?
