In the control panel display i cannot find two monitors for computer and hd tv

Hello,
was using netflix downloaded onto my pc and viewed on my hd tv. I disconnected computer and moved it Put everything back together and now it will not display on the TV. I have the proper cord between computer and tv. I was told to go into control panel and display to see if it shows two monitors but it does not. Nothing was touched on the computer when it was disconnected. Is there something that activates this

Is this a laptop? If so, then there is a key combination that toggles the external monitor/TV output on and off.
