MPEGs and AVI\'s triggering Data Execution Prevention

Accessing Pictures triggers a Data Executive Prevention error and closes the program I am using.

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Turn it off for that programme only. Go into Control Panel>System and click the Advanced tab then the top of three Settings buttons. Click Data Execution Preventtion then click the radio button to "turn DEP off except for the following" and the Add button appears. Type the programme name into the box and click Add then Apply and OK your way out.

Restart the computer and try your pictures again. If that didn't fix it, please post back the name of the programme concerned. Someone will have some experience of it.
