Question on Memory Timings.

I have G. Skill RipJaw DDR3 1600 Memory. I've pretty much come to accept that the Asus M4A79XTD defaults this memory at only 1333mhz not 1600mhz, so i just up the mhz speed under bios for the memory to 1600mhz and also changed the DDR voltage to 1.5V, but automatically the timings get changed from the factory "9-9-9-24-2N" to "11-11-11-29-2N." Is this safe? should I try to set the timings back to the factory default and if so, how do I do that?

specifics after change to 1600mhz

- CAS latency = 11clk
- RAS to CAS latency = 11clk
- Command Rate = 2T
- RAS Active Time = 29clk
- Row Cycle Time = 40clk
- Row Precharge Time = 11clk

Have you tried to run your memory with the XMP on? (extreme memory profile)

Where would I find the XMP profile? And what does it do?

It's in the bios settings. Look around or consult your mobo manual.

I have never had much luck with XMP profiles.....always set the timings manually on BIOS.
