IBM S50 Motherboard type?

Hi,

Just purchased one of these for £50 with a 15" monitor. Wanted it for the case really. What I REALLY need to know is what kind of motherboard is this? Micro ATX, Small ATX...plan to upgrade it to a socket 775 and ditch the Celeron D.

I am afraid you will not be able to upgrade to any standard size MOBO.


IBM MOBO Dimensions(approx):
~ Width......180mm
~ Depth......340mm


microATX Dimensions(approx):
~ Width......245mm
~ Depth......245mm


It only comes with a special size 200W PSU.

best upgrade option seems to be a P4 and max out the RAM to 2GB.

Genius, thanks. Where did you get this info...could find any specs at all! Saw a diagram once showing all the mobo sizes in a picture, but been lost in the ether...seen one kicking about?

Actually, just thinking. Provided the back of the motherboard lined up with the back of the case (with blanking plate) could you fit a smaller mobo into this case? This would suit me perfectly. Fit a mini itx, use the extra space to include 4 sata drives.

Exactly. although id probably get the Atom d510 (dual core with hyper threading) or a socket 1156 to use an I3 / I5

Would the back of an ITX line up with the IBM case?
