Can i use nVidia vidcards on MSI 890GXM?

i know its a really noob question to ask but im new to AMD and the new mobo i got free only says Crossfire ready and nowhere in the manual says it can use an nVidia vidcard, i know it says PCI-e 2.0 16x(8x/8x) but im wondering if i dont plan to crossfire yet can i go nvidia? and for that matter can it do physx? would appreciate feed back since im using the onboard HD 4290 and still shopping around for a cheap vidcard

You can use a single Nvidia card on an ATI board and vice-versa
