Hello,

I just bought a new ASUS motherboard: P7P55 LX .
Will any pci-express graphic card be usable with it?
I tried installing an old graphic card (not brand name written on it) that I unplugged from an old dell laptop.

Then screen stays black. Is there a reason why this couldn't be compatible with the motherboard?

Any help appreciated
thx

hang on a minute! did you get display on your old rig, i'e was the hardware still working?

If you'd like something cheap - get a ati 5770.

btw wats your PSU?

& 2)Have you installed your parts into your old rigs casing?

Thanks for the answers.
The problem is solved: the new motherboard i got wasn't working.
It took quite a while to figure that out, but the vendor replaced it.

Cheers,

Just wanted to give a heads up, the card:

E-G012-04-2366 (B)

Is NOT an X600 series ATI card, but in fact is an X300 Series ATI card; and to be even more precise it is a Dell/Radeon X300 SE. It is a low end PCIe video card.

I just thought someone might find this information helpful, if not now, for some poor future soul searching for an identification.

hi,
I was looking for what this card was myself, as OPoster says, no markings, and found this site
I can confirm this card is RADEON X300 but it says \X550 in display..advanced button
it says 128 meg 400hz
nothing about SE on my properties

if you need the original it is a Dell dimension 8400 driver that confirmed works from here:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19
(2006 drive with no windows updated one, i have not tried the ATI site but you could).
HTH
thanks,
