Could someone tell me which would be better paired up:
2x 4870
2x 5770
1x 4870 + 1x 5770 (if possible)

I'm not too keen on DirectX, and want to play maxed out on 22" full hd screen, is it worth getting 2 cards or one?

What games are you playing?? At a resolution of 1920x1080 +, I would recommend two 4870's for max performance...

Also, Instead of getting two 4870's... have you thought about just one 5850 for the same price? It will max most all games at 1920x1080 and leaves you room to upgrade with another one when required?

Budgets a bit short, so I was thinking of getting a 4870 now and then another later. Also, how many 4870s can i crosffire max, cos i'm gonna get a 790FX mobo and if I'm correct that should be 4pci-express slots.

Makes sense to me... By your first post I thought you were getting two to start. I believe you can Quadfire the 4870's but I'm not 100% sure. You shouldn't need more than a Crossfire setup... IMO.

OC it quite a lot. I managed nearly 60% OC on core clock speed on a 9400GT, what kind of overclocking potential will a 5770 have?

ah ok then, it would be interesting, but I heard there were problems when CF with 3000 series n 4000 series, esp at the beginning. Ill go for 5000 series, at my res, the difference is nothing, the memory bandwidth is the main difference but I shouldn't notice that. Thanks for your help.
