^You are wrong. It's overkill for anything below 1920x1200. But not 2560x1600. 2x5870 with 3 monitors at 2560x1600 you said? That's not relevant and the performance would suck. It's not overkill for 1 monitor 2560x1600 with 2x5870.

 

To OP: If you have a 2560x1600 monitor, go for it, if you don't get one 5870 instead if your resolution is at least 1920x1080

Sure you can only use 1 video card if you want, but you might be labeled as a complete friggin moron by someone anonymous... :whistle:
