I'm trying to choose which memory will give me the best performance for a 12 GB setup.

MOTHERBOARD: Asus P6X58D
CPU: Intel Core i7 930

Looking at the compatible listing which asus offers for G.Skill for example

3 * G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) [F3-12800CL7D-4GBRH]
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

would give a better performance than

2 * G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) Pi Series [F3-12800CL8TU-6GBPI]
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

What would be your choice for a 12 GB setup from the memories listed in the asus compatible list ?

Thanks!

is there some reason you need 12 gigs of ram......

don't worry about qvl lists just make sure the ram you pick fits the specs of the MB, and in your case the cpu limits you to 1.5 volts. yes you can do higher voltages and a lot of people do but it was only designed for 1.5.

unless you have a reason to get 12 I would recommend one set of this
