P6X58D-E getting SATA III to work

I just built a new pc with this mobo in it. I bought a WD Caviar black sata III 6/gbs because this mobo has the connection. When I ran my win 7 system rating, it only gave the hard drive a 5.9 out of 7.9
That seems a little low for this hard drive. Do I need to activate the sata III somehow in the bios, or is it already activated?
