Simple partitions

Hi everyone,
I just made a stupid mistake and turned my primary partition into a simple partition. I have a few questions. First, can I backup my hard drive with something like acronis and then switch over the simple to a primary then run the backup? Second is there really any different between simple and primary, performance wise?

no change in performance and you dont need to reinstall, you can use achronis disk director, paragon partition manager or any other tool you prefer to change it back to primary with out data loss. its a safe idea to backup your data as anytime you work with a file system or partition data loss may occur
