Power supply spec and the resolution your gaming at would help.
Here is a card i would recommend.

The HD 5750 is a safe upgrade. It basically provides the performance of the HD 4850, is DX11 (if you care), and consumes slightly less power than your HD 4670.

Power supply, from what I see, should be 400W with 33A on the 12v's.
I also will be gaming at 1400x900

5750 is above your budget but if you can, its a great option. If not the card i recommend is the best value.

What brand/model is the psu?

Find yourself a HD4870.

Or otherwise HD5750.

The computer is an ASUS CG5270 if that makes things easier!
From what I saw, the PSU is some no name generic brand.

Ya that generic shouldn't be really to reliable with high end cards. The 5750 would be your best bet. It performs like a 4850/gts250 and uses a lot less power. At the resolution your running at its adequate.

+1 for 5750 as your PSU is generic.
