I have no idea what you're asking for, see the link in my sig for a form to fill out for build advice.

If you're inquiring about a computer to run Microsoft Flight Simulator X, then you're in for a shock.

FSX does not follow the same hardware guidlines that gamers typically use to determine the best configuration. FSX is the most CPU bound title you can currently run. FSX is on the extreme CPU end of the CPU/GPU gaming spectrum. FSX frame rate is 85% CPU and only 15% GPU. FSX runs best on a highly overclocked Core i7 @ 4.0 Ghz, and just a mainstream nVidia GPU, so even a GTX-260 is overkill. High-end graphics solutions such as SLI/CF/X2 or just overclocking a single GPU has the effect of actually decreasing FPS due to increasing CPU interrupts.

Don't believe me? Then check out Tom's Gaming Graphics Charts: http://www.tomshardware.com/charts [...] 2,784.html

Microsoft's minimum requirements are a cruel joke. I've been a Flight Simulator enthusiast for over 15 years, so I've built my rigs specifically to run these simulations. You're either going to need a "built-to-order" overclocked quad, or just turn back the clock and install Flight Simulator 2004.

I new the FSX D harware was too much for my HP i Had. Yes, i need to get a better rig, , but do i use a i7 or i9 . how about ATI or NVIDIA( SLI/Crossfire is a joke on FSX!)

The i9 hasn't been released. From my post above:

I provided a link which clearly shows that nVidia is the best choice. Did you look at it?

Funny, you brought me to my own original post

Sorry, but it is not up to date, due to the fact, well, 2010 is around the corner and NVIDIA and ATI have/are comming out w/ new cards.

Then what is the point of your threads?

To get as much opinions ( but better) info on a good rig for FSX. I know now that it is a prosessor hungry program and i need more info on what components i need to build thr rig

If you're building now, then I've already answered your question in my post above, which is once again, a Core i7 920 D0 overclocked to 4.0 Ghz, and at most, a single nVidia GTX 275. If you're asking me to speculate on a future build, then a highly overclocked Core i9 with the same graphics solution. Other Graphics solutions are pointless, until the day arrives when Microsoft releases information concerning Flight Simulator 11.

I also gave you a link to Tom's Gaming and Graphics Charts in my post above. Did you look at it?
