What's your favorite ATI card maker? I've heard ASUS, Sapphire, Gigabyte are the best. I trust XFX for GeForce cards but since they're new to ATI I don't really know much about their cards.

I went with Sapphire too. I've heard negative things about their customer service, but as I have not had to deal with them (all the cards worked great) and their Vapor X line, I give them the win. XFX has a nice warranty, and I have one of their 4850s which works great, but I have hear negatives about their quality (which I am sure will improve with time, since as you said they are new to the ATI game).

I've always perfered Sapphire as well. Over the years, myself and 2 brothers have had alot of different cards. Nvidia and ATI. For Nvidia we would usually get Asus/Evga. With ATI we always got Sapphire, and not once have we had any of these 3 fail on us. Knock on wood. lol. I just got a new Sapphire 5870 today in the mail.
