Why is my task bar disappearing on windows xp

The task bar disappears and then appears when you click on it , it appears

Hello and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums.

Hover your mouse near the bottom of the screen and when the Taskbar shows up, right click it and go to Properties. Untick "Auto-hide the Taskbar" then click on Apply and OK your way out and it will remain on top of all the other programmes for you to see all the time.
