how can i use my Desktop monitor for my laptop. The screen on my laptop went out.

Most laptops have a video out that you can use. It's typically an S-Video or VGA port but newer laptops offer HDMI out.

If you have one of those but your monitor uses a different video connector type, get an adapter that fits both video connectors.
