Keyboard recognition

TO ALL YOU OLDTIMERS !!!I have an old computer set up with Windows 95 and MS DOS. I love my old LOTUS spreedsheet and have years of info on it.Recently the keyboard quit responding so I immediately thought I needed a new one but the old AT port was no longer available. 'Found an adaptor but still no recognition. I'm afraid to turn off the computer. HELP!As you can tell, I'm not a computer WHIZ!

It's me again! More info! Mouse doesn't work in MS DOS so I can't use that to shut down either. Is it possible for the keyboard to be run though a parallel port? Someone out there must know something! PLEASE HELP!
