I have my old HDD from my broken laptop taken out and have pluged it into my new one... except that i need to format it in order to use it. but i want to be able to get my files out of there first before having to delete everything.

It says. The file or directory is corrupt and unreadable.

Any way to read it or iam i going to have to format??

The old HDD came out of a sony vio. and now i have a dell. I bought a HDD encloser that has a usb on the other end to connect to any computer. soo any ideas?

Install the old drive in the external case that you have. If the files are corrupt, download and install 'Recuva' and then salvage the files.

From which computer it came from does not matter.
