Step by Step install 2nd HDD in Desktop

Hello,
I understand how to initialize and format the hdd. I am just making sure i am physically installing the HDD correctly. I had a problem with one and making sure it wasnt me

I turned off computer and unplugged everything. Physically installed HDD connecting power and data. Turned computer back on.

Anything i need to do in bios before starting windows ?
does this sound correct ?

You should be all set. You shouldn't need to do anything in the BIOS. Windows should boot normally and you should see the empty volume in My Computer. If the drive doesn't show up in Windows or runs really slow then let us know.

The only thing left to do would be to 'NTFS' format the new drive.

Thanks for the help, i figured i was doing it right just had 2 bad HDD's in a row and wanted to make sure it wasn't me

That happens when they are from the same bad batch.
