I am trying to use a BSH10 microhone with mic. but unfortunately the microphone

i am trying to use a BSH10 microhone with mic.
but unfortunately the microphone is NOT working but the i can hear ! I have Windows XP OS in my laptop.
How this problem can be solved?

Open up sound mixer and look at the Microphone option, make sure the volume is up and NOT muted.
