Your question

How should I setup 5 case fans with 2 cpu fans?

I've built a PC before but I am still pretty new to it, I'm a little confused on how I can connect so many fans.

I got an Aerocool X-Predator case which has enough mounts for 8 case fans, but I will install 5, and has two fan controllers that support up to 3 fans each. The setup I have in mind is:

Front: intake, Bottom: intake, Side: intake, Back: out, Top: out.

I will be using a Coolermaster 212 Evo HSF (I know I could do better) which will have 2 CPU fans blowing out the back, to overclock an i5-2500k.

Thats 5 case fans + 2 cpu fans for 7.

I will be using an AsRock Extreme3 or 4 Gen3 Z68 motherboard.

I have two questions:

1. How would you set this up? where would you connect which fan to what?
2. I've never used a fan controller before, does it only take 1 power connection?

1. I'd set it up just like you have it, put the intakes on one controller, outputs on the other.
2. Yes, takes 1 (usually molex) connection to power the controller and then has 3 pin connections for the fans.
