Hello,

I've bought some Kingston HyperX 6400 RAM (KXH6400D2LLK2/4G, Datasheet: http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/KHX6400D2LLK2_4G.pdf) with 2x2GB for my computer. Somehow my BIOS only recognizes them as 2096MB RAM.

I have tried to boot with each time only one stick - and each time it shows me 1GB for it.

After doing some google-work, I found out that I'd have to raise the voltage from 1.8v to 2.0v for this RAM sticks. I've also changed in my bios some clock speed of 667Mhz to 800Mhz.. but nothing changed.

Any idea what I might have overseen?
I've a Gigabyte EP45-UD3LR Mainboard with the latest firmware (F11).

Thanks for any help!

Cheers

It could be a timing issue or SPD compatibility issue... Kingston web site does not list that set of RAM (or any other HyperX RAM) as being compatible with that motherboard.

The following link/URL to Kingston site shows their list of compatible RAM with your board:
http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/con...D3LR+Motherboard&distributor=0&submit1=Search

If you bought direct from Kingston they may exchange... if from retail or online hopefully they will do the same.
