Make sound louder on computer

Hi, soo i have a Gigabyte mobo (EP45-UD3L) with a ALC888 realtek chip in it.
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate and not getting enough volume even on max.
I have the latest driver for my realtek chip (i think it's 6.0.1.5672 ).
And i tried the whole control panel>Hardware and Sound> Sound>properties for the speaker>levels. Then boosted all the levels to 100%
I use headphones for my computer and im sure that it's not my head phones.
If anyone can help me with this or recommend a program that boosts the computer volume, it would be greatly appreciated

For movie and music playback VLC will boost levels to I think 200%

Thx elel i also like how VLC can play .mkv files to.
im wondering though if u can boost the volume for youtube videos or the sound from my internet browser (which is firefox)
