I've just built a new pc, E7400 2.8ghz, 2gb 1066Mhz Corsair RAM, GTX 260 and a 850w PSU. I seem to be getting really low fps in games like CS:S and COD4. I dont use a large res, 1360x768, and I'm not sure whether it's my cpu Bottle necking the GPU or if it's the PSU. Anybody have any suggestion's :) thanks

Check temps By downloading HWmonitor.

Secondly,Your RAM is a bigger bottleneck than your CPU.
You need 4GB for newer games if you are using Win7 OR vista.(Sufficient for XP)

+1 on temps. Source games like CS:S should run butter smooth on a system like that. They're also mostly CPU dependent. If your CPU is overheating and underclocking to save itself, it will definitely cause some choppiness.
It could also be some other problem with your OS or software.

To clarify, what's your definition of really low fps?

well I was on all low graphics, Directx 8.1 and with a FPS config, it would only just reach 120. I mean it's playable, but I feel like I've spent money on a new pc, and only got a boost of 20 fps =/

sorry to double post, but some more info. Im on XP SP3, and my temps for the CPU are around 40-42 and my GPU temps are between 50-55.
I've even been into bios and turn off the power saving mode on the CPU, but still no improvement =/
