Well. Im getting ready to build a second computer and the 5850 i want is on backorder till the 1Q of 2010.
For my pc i have now i have a dell 23" monitor with a resolution of 2048 x 1152. Ive already ordered 2x radeon hd 4770's bc it was cheap and the second computer i am going to build is going to be for my wife and more of a "normal" use computer. I originally had picked out a vapor-x 4890 but changed my mind at the last moment. Now im stuck wondering whether i was right or not. I know the 2x 4770's beat the 4890s most of the time until the higher memory bandwidth is needed, but i never saw benchmarks of 2x 4770s vs a stock o/c'd 4890 vapor-x. Should i have gotten 2x4770's or a vapor-x 4890 or possibly 2x4850's or maybe even a 5770 for a price around $200? Yes i know, the 5850 is a great deal for near this price but my patience is running thin with this build i have just sitting here. I am thinking of returning the 4770's before opening them b/c although im not going for the best performance possible i do not want to wast money where i can get a higher performance at the same price. Graphics cards are confusing me. Any suggestions?
