I currently have a Geforce 8600GT 256mb DDR3 connected to a 40" HDTV. I'm looking to upgrade and my goal is to be able to run MW2 at 1080p and to be able to play 1080p mkv videos. Currently I can only play 720p video files. I want to spend around $100.

I've been looking at the Radeon HD 4770 512MB 128-bit GDDR5 card from Newegg for $109, but I can't decide if it'd be better to go with a 1GB DDR3 for a 1920X1080 resolution or the 512MB GDDR5? Will the 4770 be able to handle MW2, or is there a better option?

Thanks in advance!

Or buy a xbox 360 with it... the PC version multiplayer will be a lag fest at an average 100ms of speed. (coming from the mouths of the guys at Infinity Ward)

Sincerely, if you are upgrading for this game, you are wasting your money.

A 5770 is less powerful than a 4870, I would even dare to say a 4850.
