I am thinking about building a new pc (no specifics yet on hardware), but one thing I would like to try is overclocking. I have never done it before and obviously dont want to screw anything up. I know that you need to use fsb, multiplier, and voltage. But was wondering how you know what to choose. Say I went with an AMD A8-3870K for instance, and wanted to get it to 3.5, how would one know what to tweak?

That particular CPU has an unlocked multiplier, meaning you do not have to adjust the FSB. Just raise the mulitiplier and Vc as needed for the OC your going after. Make sure you have a good HSFU for your CPU to keep temps under control. :sol:

Chose quality hardware to go along with your CPU and you will have a pretty solid PC.
