Hi Guys.

Just built a PC to which i thought was a b*ll tearer.

Phenom II x4 955 BE 3.20 ghz
Asus M4A78T-E Mobo
4GB DDR3 Corsair (2 x 2gb)
x2 Radeon 4850 CrossfireX.
Windows XP Pro SP3

I have upgraded from an x2 6000+ with 2gb ram and 8800gt 512mb., and i still cant play Crysis Warhead in DX9 at Max res (1920x1080 Enthusiast). Original Crysis plays 30-60fps on DX9 Maxed out but Warhead is only 15-20fps.

Does anybody have any ideas why?

Cheers

Solution
No your cards should run Warhead and every other game fine, its strange because most people get lower FPS in Original Crysis and higher FPS in Warhead(due to better optimization)but your case is vice-versa,try an older driver like Catalyst 9.8 and see if it helps

ATI drivers can be buggy at times. try uninstalling the drivers, then shut down, open your computer, remove the crossfire cable then reboot, reinstall drivers, shut down, reconnect the crossfire cable, restart and make sure the crossfire option is enabled. if this does not work, use an older version the the catalyst software.
