MB Disk at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi

I wanted to change partitions and make new partitions and then instal OS , but I saw a unpartitioned space (8189MB) and I couldn't delete it
my HDD is maxtor 500 SATA

I saw two sentences in setup

476938 MB Disk at Id 0 on bus 0 on iastor
unpartitioned space 476938 Mb

8190 MB Disk at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi
unpartitioned space 8189 Mb

What is your solution for my problem?

my motherboard is P5Q (asus)

It will create by default an additional 8MB partition space for storing mbr and other drive info but not 8GB. Is this a Hybrid Drive ? ATAPI suggests an IDE drive unless it missreads your DVD as HDD and DVD is IDE connected, which would mean you have a blank DVD in the drive. As far as your 500 gigabit drive, 476.9 gigabytes is about the right size for it, you're not missing anything, partition and format that. No Problem.
