So I'm interested in buying this card either 1 or 2GB, but after searching through the internet I am left terribly confused, there are several different cards with this name..??

Such as:

http://www.vuugo.com/ProductInfo.aspx?pc=AX6950+2GBD5-2...

http://www.hookbag.ca/product/H3C06LPFF/

and

http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX35405

There are more, but I'm sure you get the idea. What's the reason for this?

Thanks,

Mod

The reason is simple: basically either AMD or Intel does the thinking and several other companies do the manufacturing.
Think of it like the Volkswagen group. It has several companies ( audi, seat, skoda, volkswagen, porsche, etc) that sell it's products but underneath it's all basically the same.

That being said some manufacturing companies have better reputation than others Sapphire,XFX, Gigabyte and ASUS are usually well liked

Ah OK thanks! Are there any manufacturers that make cards exclusively for AMD or Intel?

Now that I think of it, does any graphics card work with any processer?

No, manufacturers cater for both parties as to exclude one would be business stupidity,
And yes, as long as the graphics slot is the correct one for the card, pcie replaced agp, and so on,
so you want a card today that sits in a x16pcie slot
The platform and processor are irrelevant
