Hello to everyone,

Most of you probably have answered this question already so I appreciate your time you put into your answer.
I am looking to buy the Radeon HD 5870 I have a CoolerMaster 1000W PSU (Power Supply Unit) heres a link for the specs (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171022). I have an Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe mobo (motherboard) heres a link for the specs (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131224&cm_re=asus_m3a32-mvp-_-13-131-224-_-Product). Is this enough to run the 5870 stable?

Thank you for your answers

A 5870 requires a PCI-E 16x slot, (2) 6-pin PCI-E power connectors, and a 500W PSU with 40A on the 12V rails. YES you have all that plus some.

It is enough to run about (3) 5870 cards. You can run a single 5870 card on a good 500-600w PSU

Google "CoolerMaster 1000W PSU Specs"
Click first link.
Look through the specs.
There is no PSU power supply plug for "PCI-E x16", but there are PCI-E plugs. Of those, there are two types, 6pin and 8(6+2)pin. 6+2 pin connectors will work in 6 pin slots, 6pin connectors will NOT work in 8pin slots.
The specs list:
"PCI-E 6+2 Pin x 6"
Therefore, you have 6 PCI-E connectors which can be used in 6 or 8 pin PCI-E devices.
The 5870 uses 2x6pin power connectors. Therefore, you can connect 3 of them at once. Those of us who are familiar with the cards, know that a quality 1000w psu (such as coolermaster) can support 3 of these cards on power alone.

^To add to JofaMang. He listed the PSU specs. THe PCI-E x16 slot is what your video card plugs into. Your motherboard has 4 of those. You always install it into the slot closest to your CPU. AKA the top one.
