whether the right motherboard 4 pin connector can use a power supply with 4 pin connector?

I have a asus mainboard p5kpl-am se, about what power supply compatible with my mainboard, but with 650 watts?

because I want to buy hd 4870,

Any ATX PSU will work. You need a 24 pin main power connector, 4 pin CPU power connector, and two 6 pin PCIe connectors.

PSU's generally have either a "4+4" plug that separates into two 4 pin plugs or separate 4 and 8 pin plugs.

Something like a Corsair 550VX (41 amp 12 volt rail):

A Corsair 650TX (52 amp 12 volt rail

would let you upgrade to any CPU and any single video card.
