Planning to purchase my first heatsink, i know every cpu temps are different and heatsink results are different,
regardless i wanted some opinions from you guys... heres my specs and the temps im experiencing at the moment :

asrock extreme 3
gigabyte 560 ti factory oc'ed
phenon ii 960t unlocked to 6 cores
patriot gaming 8 gigs 1333
corsair 750w single 12v rail

34-39 ~ C idle temps
40-50 ~ C under load ( WoW )

Ive narrowed it down to these 2 heatsinks since im not trying to spend over 40$ on a heatsink,
yet im still looking for preformance in that price range...

ive taken a look at the reviews on newegg.com but i just wanted a 2nd opinion as to which heatsink
do you guys think will preform better and keep my temps lower... i plan on OCing this CPU to about
4ghz, not sure if i will push it past that becuase i dont wanna mess anything up...

Get the hyper 212 evo. The temperatures are way better than the 212 Plus.

Might wanna get some arctic silver instead of the paste that comes with it.

I use the Evo my self. It's awesome

Just make sure it will fit. I was unable to put a Hyper 212 in my case as it was literally a hair too tall. You will need about 6 3/8" from your motherboard to the case side. My case is 7.3 in wide, 7.5 in will do it

The 212 should run quieter since it uses 120mm fans, vs the 520's 92mm ones, but if space is an issue, the 520 is shorter. The 212 generally cools a bit better, but as Gene O said..they wont differ by much

So i picked up my evo 212 and im starting to think i did something wrong in the installation process.... my temps are not anywhere what i expected they would be...
the temperatures i posted before i picked up my evo 212 was with the extra 2 cores unlocked, these are the current temps with the same number of cores unlocked & no changes were made.

31~34 idle
38~39 under load ( WoW )

amd 960t
unlocked to 6 cores
@ 3.7 ghz

not sure if i didnt put enough, or put too much thermal paste..
or was i expecting a little too much from his heatsink?

EDIT: i am only using 1 fan, the fan that came with the heatsink
