When in crossfire how many crossfire bridge?

I have two 4850 that I want to set up in a crossfire but I only have 1 crossfire bridge interconnect cable. Will 1 work for crossfire and will I that a performance hit if I only use 1. I'm willing to buy another just want to make sure you need 2 cables to get most out of your card.

You only need one, but many people believe that two can increase performance. Some say that two for higher resolutions (1920x1200) are better than one. Some say they lose performance when using two. So it's up to you. Try to figure out which set up suits you best, but it isn't "required" to use both.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try with 1 for now and see if I need another. No need to spend the money on another if not needed.
