Intel I7 and Windows 7 Issues

I have been getting the blue screen of death from and it has been slow lately. My wireless network card doesn't detect any wireless networks. I have tried reformatting the hard drive several times. Windows 7 froze a couple times during installation and I had to restart the install several times.


Are there any hardware diagnostics that will discover what my problem is?

Try testing your memory: memtest86

All hardware settings, such as overclocking are all on default, right?

Sounds similar to a problem I was having with the Win 7 install. Memtest86+ helped me determine I had bad RAM. Once that was cleared up, the install was smooth as silk (and surprisingly fast)

Yes, I put everything to default once I started having problems.

I ran Memtest86+ 4.0 and it said I passed with no errors. I'm going to let the test run a couple more times though. Any more suggestions?

What RAM do you have? Memtest86+ is good at finding faulty RAM, but not great at detecting incorrect RAM settings. I've seen RAM pass Memtest86+ but fail during normal use. I would manually set the RAM speed/timings/voltage to the recommended specs in the BIOS.

What are your idle/load CPU temps?

OK that RAM is rated at 1600MHz with 8-8-8-24 timings at 1.65v. That's what you should set the RAM speed/timings/voltage to in the BIOS.

I also just got the BSoD with this message "a clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval"
