I would like to upgrade the board to a PCI Express platform to run the more advanced games available. I have a Pentium 4 now with 3 Gigs of RAM and two Hard Drives. I have fairly new DVDRW and DVDROMS, so I would prefer to not buy a new system. Any help?

IIRC, PCIe platforms are only available on motherboards for newer CPUs. So you probably have no choice but to upgrade a lot of things.

Well, even if he could find a mobo that'll support his CPU and have PCI-E, I'm not sure it's worth it. The x1950 Pro is overkill on a 3200+ single core. You'd have to look at the hierarchy chart and pick something above that, around the HD 2600 XT ish area.

You'd probably have to go to ebay for that graphics card, cause the stuff on newegg is gonna be absolute crap or too much for a P4.

You might be better off making sure that your dell case is regular ATX, and just buy a CPU/mobo/RAM/Power supply/graphics card. I'd suggest one of the Athlon II's because one of those will be a huge jump, a 770 or higher AMD/ATI chipset for the mobo, and a 4670 or 4850.

The reason why a power supply is dell power is currently proprietary, but has the same plugs so you can fry the mobo and PSU if you use mix them.
