Hello,
Which one would you pick, 128gb m4 at 172$ or 120gb vertex 3 at 206$?
I considered buying the vertex 3, but then read some reviews about the crucial new firmware. I have an i7-2600, 8gb ram. Will I exprience a major difference in performance?

You probably won't notice a difference, and Crucial's drives have been more reliable in my experience.

The Vertex 3 is by far the faster drive but you run a much higher risk of BSOD with the random issues seen with the Sandforce 2200 controller. OCZ and Sandforce (among others) are working on a fix but until it is put into place with a firmware update, it is buyer beware...

The Crucial m4 is currently the best all-around SSD for performance and reliability. I would go with the Crucial m4 at this time.
