I am upgrading my main board so I can get a new Quad core 3ghz processsor, in the description of the main board it says:

RAM Slots
2 x 240-Pin (DDR2)
2 x 240-Pin (DDR3)

RAM Speeds
DDR2 533
DDR2 667
DDR2 800
DDR2 1066 (AM2+/AM3 CPU only)
DDR3 800
DDR3 1066
DDR3 1333
DDR3 1600

At the moment I have 3 x 1Gb DDr2 modules of Ram and 1 x 512mb DDR2 Ram, I'm assuming I cant put DDR2 ram in on of the DDR3 Ram slots? Because I'm going to have to buy new Ram if I do =(

Thanks

ddr2 and ddr3 have different pin arrangement, so yeah, you would have to. you can just put 2 of the 1 gig modules into the 2 ddr2 slots though...and why are u getting a mobo with 2 ddr2 slots anyway? ddr2 modules are turning into fossils now!
