Ok I'm looking to build my own pc, I've done some research asked some people and this is what I've come up with. Keep in mind it's my very first attempt at putting various parts together so I might have minorly or majorly screwed up with one or more things, hell I might even be missing some crucial aspects so feel free to laugh and criticize as long as you offer me some advice with it :kaola:

Processor - AMD Athlon X4 620 - $99.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103706&cm_re=amd_athlon_x4_620-_-19-103-706-_-Product

RAM - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL - $93.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277

DVD Drive - ASUS CD/DVD Burner SATA Model DRW-24B1ST - Retail - $33.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135199&Tpk=ASUS%20CD%2fDVD%20Burner%20SATA%20Model%20DRW-24B1ST

I use my computer for mainly everyday use, some moderate gaming (nothing extreme at all) and a lot of video downloading/unzipping etc.
It's my understanding that I would have no problem playing 1080p quality video if I hooked this up to a 42" 1080p TV?
Did I forget anything?
Are there any compatibility issues?
something I should upgrade?
Should I go 8gb of ram?
I've been told AMD MoBo's have powerful onboard graphics so I wouldn't need a video card considering my uses?
Any comments/suggestions/criticism is welcomed THX

im not really worried about the HDD as an external hard drive where I live is $60 for 500GB and I'm waiting for solid state to emerg so I can switch to that, not to mention I don't store the movies for long. I have 200GB right now and I barely fill THAT up. Plus my budget is actually $1000 and this build doesn't even come close to reaching that. Other than the HDD though it's all compatible etc?

Yes.

Since you have a bit more cash than your spending I do suggest you consider throwing in a DX11 graphics card once the prices on them drop. Perhaps at the end of this year?

As programs like games become more intensive a better quality graphics card will help make your system last a bit longer (well perform better over time).

Hope this helps.
