i just built a pc with a p5n-d motherboard and can't ant operating system to load. I tried changing the harddrive and memory but still nothing. It keeps stick at the preinstall. Any ideas would be helpful. thanks
I assume you mean the Asus P5N-D Socket LGA 775 motherboard.
To better help you it would be useful to know what operating system you are attempting to load.
The system specs including brands and models would also be useful.
First thing, make sure you update your bios to the latest version from here: . If you need help doing it let me know. Usually you put the update on a flash drive and select something that looks like bios update in the bios.
If it is windows Vista or 7, sometimes you have to wait an unusually long time for the installer to load after the install files have been loaded from the disk. Depending on the motherboard, I've had to wait up to 15 minutes. But once it loads, the install should go nice and smooth.
Let me know if you have any problems or need clarification.
