Test each card separately and make sure you have a good enough psu. 800+w unit or better.

each card works good and the power suply unit is a bfg 650W. the gtx+ i different then the GTX because it only takes one 6 pin per card. also tryed the second card in the middle PCIE slot and the systems boots up

So there might be a dead slot hmm give a few more tries. The psu seams to be on the low end of the needs of two cards and I would know I got a antec ea650 with two 9800gt one is a 65nm. See if sli works in the middle slot then.

the SLI bridge is to long for the middle slot, but i tryed just a single card in the bottom slot and it does the same thing, so maybe the bottom slot is dead?

If nothing worked in the slot so I would assume that the slot is dead. Do you by chance still have the warranty for the board?

Check that the auxiliary molex by the bottom slot hasn't come loose.

connected the two SLI bridges <-- think u might find this is the issue, 2 cards = 1 bridge (for nvidia anyway)

try each card in every slot, figure out what dont work.

Got the latest bios release? (v1.2 i believe)

I only use one bridge.

its an ebay board, so my best shot would be RMA but i booted up the system with both cards in the primary, worked fine. when i put any one of the cards in the bottom slave PCIE, the digital readout on the board goes back and forth from C1 to A0 and the fans on both cards spool up and slow down repeatedly. the 6 pin on both are connected and all the connecters on the the mobo. and i tried using one bridge on each slot on top, and both bridges, still the same results.

It's not in my posts. Try quoting the post if you are picking out a specific point as it can can confusing otherwise.

A single graphic card will only work in the primary slot, and whilst I would never trust anything bought from ebay it does sound like you don't have enough power. Have you tried booting with one card and then turning up the voltages a bit in BIOS?

im gettin the ff code now because im using jsut one, and it boots fine, and as far as voltage goes its 20 amps on 12v1 and 20 amps on 12v2 so thats 40 amps at 480 watts on those rails, if it wasnt enough power, why would it do the same thing with no card in the primary and jsut one card in the slave?

Reply to yeldarb041

because if u dont get an FF code, you dont get past POST (power on self test).

that sounds like a power issue, pull everything out other than the 2GPUS (all hard discs / floppy / sound card / optical drive / anything running on usb (not KB)

so only running power to MB/2xGPU thats it.

see what happens,

ran 1 stick of ram, unplugged both hd, all three optical, and the single cpu fan and still same story

That is not good since the bios is unable to load any thing in that slot and is causing an issue when used with the primary. In short you need a new board if you want to do sli or be able to use more than two monitors. I am glade that I have very few problems with my 780i (performance with the fsb).

that what im thinking....its a great board if your not going to use SLI, but i dont want to ahev to go through RMA with an ebay board...haha what would you suggest for a good replacement pricewise? all i need is the 3way SLI option, DDR2 and 775 quadcore overclockable

Well in short that means a 780i board just keep it cool and really tweak the ram timings. I got the xfx version of the 780i.

i got the system wiht the second card in the slave slot :) but now heres the problem, it wont detect this card. the fan spins up to max. RPM and the primary card runs normal.

That makes two dead slots so if you want sli get a new board or at least a replacement.
