I was planing on putting together a new rig by the end of the month but recent price increases and product unavailability is making me think twice.

In particular, the SSD prices have gone through the roof within the last week or so and you can't even get hold of radeon 5850 cards.

When should I pull the trigger? Now, Black Friday, Holiday Season or even after the Holiday Season?

I guess we can blame the introduction of Windows 7 or pre-holiday season hike.

boxing day if u can get a early jump on the 5850s as they should be cheaper by 10-50 dollars on holidays. Black friday could also be but in canada we do not have black friday so idk.

Black Friday may be a good time, also check on tigerdirect.com as well as newegg. But I'm on Tigerdirect's mailing list and they sometimes come out with some good deals.
